Double start with both the Mercedes AMG GT3 and the new GT2 at the 24H Nurburgring Qualifiers / 21-23 April, 2023
GT3
Caresani had a great start of the 24h qualifying weekend. The Green Hell, as the Nürburg Ring is called by fans and foes, was a good challenge for the AMG GT3 Mercedes and Caresani. He placed the car on P2 in qualifying. Caresani was content: “The Schnitzelalm Racing Team did a fantastic job with the car, and I am sure we can fight for the win this evening”.
However, pouring rain makes the Green Hell even more challenging. Although the beginning of the race went well, some mistakes were made, which made the race very difficult. At the drivers change Caresani was in 5th position, Marcel Marchewicz finished the race as 8th.
Caresani was not displeased with the results: “For sure the most difficult thing I’ve done so far. All together a really good opportunity to learn and develop, which is also very important”.
GT2
On Friday and Saturday a lot of testing was done and important data gathered for the GT2 race. However, technical issues ended things quickly for the Schnitzelalm Racing AMG GT2 in a DNF. Nevertheless a valuable preparation for the 24h of the Nürburgring.
