Biography

Not afraid of a challenge, Dutch Colin Caresani entered the Nürburgring Langstrecken Series (NLS) at the early age of 19. After successes in the DTM Trophy, in 2023 he took the next step with the Schnitzelalm Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the NLS, 24h Nürburgring and ADAC GT Masters.
A season focusing on the Green Hell brings ample chances and challenges. The road to success does not come easy but Colin Caresani showcased his remarkable talent throughout the season.
Being fast is one thing, it requires hard work and a continuous dedication to become better. Colin’s analytic qualities, his commitment to teamwork and likable personality make him a dedicated team player. This dedication has one goal: becoming a factory driver and compete at the highest level in motorsport.
Born 22nd December 2003, Colin Caresani was gripped by motorsports in any form from an early age. Living about 3 kilometers from the track in Zandvoort, he grew up hearing racecars as soon as he stepped out of the front door.
From nine years old, he successfully competed at the karting sport, both national and international. In 2019 he made his car racing debut in the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Benelux. Since then things went fast – literally and figuratively. 2023 marked his debut in the Nürburgring Langstrecke Serie and the 24H NBR, the most infamous, exciting, and difficult endurance race in the world.

During his karting days, Colin achieved multiple pole positions and wins in both the Dutch, German and European series and a place in the national KNAF talent program.
The transition to motorsport proved to be even more successful: Rookie Champion in the 2019 Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Benelux and 3rd in the overall championship. In the following year he became overall champion in this series.
Supported by the largest Dutch BMW dealer Van Poelgeest BMW he became National Champion of the 2021 BMW M2 Cup. Upon invitation in the DTM BMW M2 Cup, he competed in the last 3 rounds, accumulating more points than any other driver in these races. In 2022, together with the now BMW Factory Team Project 1, Colin went a step higher with the DTM Trophy, also known as the toughest GT4 series in the world, where he just missed out on the championship.
2023 marked a switch to Schnitzelalm Racing. As the youngest GT3 driver he achieved pole position and 2 wins at the GTWS Jerez and qualified 2nd for the Nürburgring 24H Qualifiers. Additionally, Colin was involved in development work for Mercedes-AMG in the Mercedes AMG GT2 and top 5 finish in the ADAC GT Masters Nürburgring.

Back at the best place in the world 🩵

Good start to the weekend with a positive testday today. Got a lot of laps in in different conditions and acquired some valuable data.

Heads down now and full focus.
24 intense hours.

11 hours of driving and 1,5 hours of sleep. Back home, I’m exhausted, but beyond proud of what we accomplished as a team. We worked perfectly together. Everyone from the physiotherapist to the chef to the engineers helped me to perform at my best.

We finished P3 in Silver class after we ran out of luck in the morning. Our splitter disintegrated and we had to stop in the box for 12 minutes. We kept on pushing and in the end we were running the same pace as the top 10 overall even with the sustained damages. Goes to show what could have been.

For now, I want to say thank you. Thank you to the team for bringing all these amazing people together who give everything, thank you to my teammates for their amazing efforts and most importantly thank you to my partners for making this all happen.

I will keep my head up and focus on ever improving.
