Colin was looking forward to racing at the amazing Circuit de Spa Francorchamps, but it turned out to be a weekend to quickly forget. Both Saturday and Sunday knew their problems. Tricky conditions and wrong decisions resulted in P7 on Saturday.
In the Sunday race, Colin got caught up in a crash in T1 in the race. Initially, all seemed workable with the car – apart from a skewed steering wheel – but he still managed to set the 6th fastest lap with a damaged car. But driving down Blanchimant with 200 Kmh, a tire blew up. The race ended at P13 and zero points for the championship.
“The tire blowout was the first time I was scared during a race”, according to a disappointed Caresani, “We have been in tough situations lately and we haven’t made the right decisions sometimes, nor did we have Lady Luck on our side. For now it’s a tough one to swallow, but we will keep fighting till the end.”
It goes without saying that Colin is eager to get his revanche at the Spielbergring in the weekend from 23-25th of September.
