Biography

Since entering the GT-race world, Colin Caresani (2003) has rapidly ascended the ranks of European motorsport. Growing up just a few kilometers from Circuit Zandvoort, his passion for racing ignited early, leading him to karting at the age of nine. His karting tenure was marked by multiple victories and pole positions across Dutch, German, and European series, earning him a spot in the national KNAF talent program.
Transitioning to car racing in 2019, Colin made an immediate impact by securing the Rookie Champion title and finishing third overall in the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Benelux. He clinched the overall championship the following year. In 2021, backed by Van Poelgeest BMW, he became the National Champion of the BMW M2 Cup. His prowess caught the attention of the DTM BMW M2 Cup, where he participated in the final three rounds, amassing more points than any other driver in those races. In 2022, with BMW Factory Team Project 1, Colin competed in the DTM Trophy, narrowly missing the championship title.
The year 2023 marked Colin's foray into GT3 racing with Schnitzelalm Racing. As the youngest GT3 driver, he achieved pole positions and victories at GTWS Jerez and secured a second-place qualification for the Nürburgring 24H Qualifiers. His versatility was further demonstrated through development work for Mercedes-AMG's GT2 program and a top-five finish in the ADAC GT Masters at Nürburgring.
In 2024, Colin's trajectory continued upward as he joined Winward Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Alongside teammates Daan Arrow and Tanart Sathienthirakul, he clinched the Silver Cup championship, highlighted by class victories at Monza and Paul Ricard, and a commendable fifth-place finish in the Silver Cup at the 24 Hours of Spa. Additionally, he secured a podium finish in the SP9 Pro-Am class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring with Konrad Motorsport.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2025, Colin Caresani continues to build on his reputation as one of the most promising young talents in international GT racing.
After concluding his chapter with GetSpeed Performance at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, Colin remains focused on the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Italian GT Endurance Championship with Antonelli Motorsport, teaming up with Florian Scholze and Tanart Sathienthirakul. He brings precision, determination, and consistency to every outing.

Beyond his GT racing commitments, Colin participated in a groundbreaking project with Mercedes-AMG. As part of a select group of 17 professional drivers, he helped pilot the fully electric Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept to a world-record distance of more than 3,400 miles (5,479 km) in just 24 hours at the Nardò proving ground. This achievement — part of a larger effort that saw the car cover the equivalent of a lap around the globe in eight days — underlines Colin’s versatility and his ability to perform at the highest level across different motorsport disciplines.

24H Nürburgring 2026 ❤️‍🩹

The start of a new chapter. My first race together with @FordRacing and @HauptRacingTeam

The 24H Nürburgring is the most beautiful and exhilarating race in the world of endurance racing, and the one which means the most to me. It’s also the most brutal, and it can, and will be cruel. Months of preparation went into this event. A team of more than 65 people worked day and night to give us the chance to fight at the front, but it was all taken away from us in an instant. Nine hours into the race while leading in class our car was involved in an incident at one of the fastest sections of the track which brought an abrupt end to our great run. Most importantly, my teammate walked away unscathed.

It wasn’t meant to be this year, but I left the track feeling proud of what we had achieved up until that point.

I want to express my appreciation to all the people of @HauptRacingTeam who welcomed me with open arms and gave their all for this programme. Thank you as well to my teammates for the great run we had.

We will be back.

Coming off the back of winning the GT World Challenge Silver Cup, the future looked great. Everything seemed to be lining up perfectly and I was exactly where I wanted to be for the following season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be and for different reasons those plans never materialized. I was left with nothing just a month before the start of the season.

Those 18 months that followed felt like a constant uphill battle. I felt I was improving as a driver in every single aspect, but I didn’t have the chance to prove myself. New opportunities came along at the end of last year, but also those slipped away. I was devastated. I started to fade away into this feeling and isolated myself from the people close to me, which only made things worse.

However, in the past few months things started to turn around again. I met some people who believed in me and gave me a chance. Just as quickly as everything looked to go wrong, things went right again, and I’m currently on the way back from Geneva where I just signed for already my third full GT3 programme for this season. I’m extremely grateful to these individuals giving me the opportunities to chase my dream. It provides added motivation and I will do everything in my power to show them it was the right decision.
